Hi, I’m Cian (they/them)!
I’m a youth librarian and earned my MLIS from UW-Madison in 2024. I have experience working in public, academic (The Cooperative Children’s Book Center), and tribal library settings. I’m passionate about programming for kids, community-driven and diverse collection development, and teaching information literacy.
I have nearly a decade of experience working with youth. My background is in elementary education, and I taught Kindergarten, first, and fourth grade students. I also have experience working with young adults as a teaching assistant during grad school at UW-Madison.
I currently work at a public library in addition to ongoing consulting work at the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center Library for youth programming and collection development. You can read about my recent projects on my blog in addition to booklists/displays, and reviews.
I can be found hiking in New Mexico, reading picture books and graphic novels, rock climbing, playing video games, and making playlists.
