Hi, I’m Cian (they/them)!
I’m a youth librarian and earned my MLIS from UW-Madison. I have experience working in public, academic (The Cooperative Children’s Book Center), and tribal library settings. I’m passionate about programming for kids, community-driven and diverse collection development, and teaching information literacy.
I currently work at a public library branch in Albuquerque where I run storytimes and other programming for youth. I’m a member of the Best Graphic Novels for Children Committee 2026 through ALA’s Graphic Novel and Comics Roundtable. You can read about my recent projects on my blog in addition to booklists/displays, and reviews.
I have over a decade of experience working with youth. My background is in elementary education, and I taught Kindergarten, first, and fourth grade students. I also have experience working with young adults as a teaching assistant at UW-Madison. Post grad school, I did consulting work at the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center Library for youth programming and collection development, including a genrefication project.
I can be found hiking in New Mexico, reading picture books and graphic novels, rock climbing, playing video games, and making playlists.
